This cookie policy describes the cookies and similar tracking technologies we use on decree.dk, what they are used for, and how you can manage or block them. The policy supplements our privacy policy.
01
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer, tablet, or phone the first time you visit the site. Cookies are used, among other things, to remember your preferences, measure traffic, and deliver certain features. Similar technologies (e.g. localStorage and pixels) are treated under the same rules.
The use of cookies is governed by § 3 of the Danish Executive Order on requirements for information and consent for storing or accessing information on end-user terminal equipment (the cookie order), which implements the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC). For cookies that process personal data, GDPR also applies.
02
Cookies we currently use
Decree currently sets no consent-requiring cookies. We use neither analytics cookies, marketing cookies, nor third-party embeds that store information on your device.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| (none) | Strictly necessary | We set no cookies on decree.dk in the current version | Not applicable | Not required |
The website is a static Astro frontend, hosted at Scaleway in Paris. When you visit the site, the hosting provider logs technical information in server logs (IP address, browser, path, time). This information is processed under our privacy policy and is not a cookie.
03
If we later turn on analytics
We have prepared our setup so that we can later activate analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics 4 in EU data mode). If we do, we will:
- Obtain your prior, free, specific, and informed consent in a consent banner before any cookies or other information are stored on your device
- Anonymise IP addresses to the extent possible with the vendor
- Configure the tool so that data is processed within the EU (e.g. via GA4 EU data mode)
- Update the table above with name, purpose, retention period, and consent requirements for each cookie
- Describe the consent mechanism and your ability to withdraw consent
Until a consent banner is activated, no analytics cookies are stored on your device.
04
Third-party cookies and embeds
We do not use third-party cookies or embeds on decree.dk in the current version. That means no cookies are set from, for example, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, or Hotjar when you visit the site.
Should we later embed external content (for instance a LinkedIn profile view or a YouTube video), we will assess it on a case-by-case basis, and either obtain consent or use click-to-load patterns so that no data exchange with the third party occurs before you choose it yourself.
05
How to manage cookies in your browser
You can always delete or block cookies via your browser settings. Note that if you block all cookies, certain features on other websites may stop working correctly.
You can also visit aboutcookies.org for a combined guide in several languages.
06
Withdraw consent
Since we do not collect cookie consent in the current version, there is no consent to withdraw. When we later activate a consent mechanism, you will be able to withdraw your consent at the same place where you gave it (typically via a small icon at the bottom of the page), with effect for future processing. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to the withdrawal, cf. GDPR Art. 7(3).
07
Complaint to the Danish Data Protection Agency
If you believe that our use of cookies or processing of personal data does not meet the rules, you can lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency. We encourage you to contact us first at info@decree.dk so we can answer your questions.

We update this cookie policy when we change our use of cookies or similar technologies, and when legislation or guidance from the Danish Data Protection Agency and the Danish Agency for Digital Government so requires. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of the page.
